How to Get Rid of Puffy Eyes – Natural Treatments

Do you have dark, puffy bags under your eyes? Don’t you just wish to pack them up and have them shipped to nowhere? But seriously, who wouldn’t want to get rid of bags under eyes? They can make you look tired and stressed.

How you get rid of bags under eyes would depend on their cause. Why do you have eye bags?

They could be hereditary; if one or both of your folks have it, you most likely have them too.

They could also be a sign of a health problem. Some medical conditions such as kidney disorders could lead to development of eye bags. They could also be symptoms of an allergic reaction. If you think that this is the case for you, then it’s time to pay your doctor a visit.

Aging is another reason why you may have eye bags. As people age, body tissues also degenerate; this include ligaments and skin under the eyes. The ligaments get weak and the skin becomes saggy, thus they form.

Of course, to some people, lifestyle is one the biggest factor why they develop eye bags. If you’ve been spending sleepless nights lately or if you haven’t been eating well, you shouldn’t be surprised why you have them. Stress, lack of sleep, bad dietary habits-these are some of the most common causes of it.

Of course, the most recommended way to get rid of bags under eyes is to live a healthy lifestyle. But it isn’t as easy as it sounds; life nowadays is so demanding that getting enough sleep is already a luxury. So if you didn’t sleep a wink last night but still want to look fresh and eye bags-free the next morning, here are some treatments to get rid of bags under eyes-fast and easy.

Apply a cold compress for ten to fifteen minutes, once or twice a day. You could pop spoons into the freezer for a few minutes and use them on your eyes. There are also gel compresses sold at stores; these are particularly designed to go around your eye area. Take note though that this method only works for a few hours, it’s not a permanent fix for it.

Using frozen green tea bags could also help. Green tea contains EGCG, a substance which has anti-inflammatory properties. Applying them to your eyes for about 15 minutes could help reduce under eye bags.

Say goodbye to water retention. Some people develop it due to water retention, if so you need to address this problem first before you become eye bags-free. Decreasing your sodium intake, drinking lots of water, and avoiding alcohol are some ways to avoid water retention.

You may find these solutions effective but always remember that these are just quick fixes.   If you want to stay free from it, you have to make the necessary lifestyle adjustments. Eat, sleep, and drink well.
